PAWPAW AND PUMPKIN PROJECT
Pawpaw and Pumpkin Project is integrated since Pawpaw takes 8-9 months to mature while Pumpkins takes 3 – 4 to mature.
The Pumpkins early maturing will cushion the Clusters members before the Pawpaw Matures.
EA-SSASPF empowers the Cluster group members with certified Seedlings / Seeds, Organic Manure, Capacity Building and Market. Even though the local market is readily available, the organization is also exploring international market of the value added / processed products.
The Project is implemented in the following Counties; – Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, Kisumu, Siaya, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Nandi, Kericho, Uasin Gishu, Nakuru, West Pokot, Samburu and Turkana.
The Project is being implemented in Phases and targets 518,400 Clusters.
Some of the crops take a longer duration of months to mature and get to the market, we have therefore made sure that members do not suffer waiting for such a long time, we therefore cution the same with other short term income generating businesses.
